About Alex

Award-winning director Alex Pop was born in Baia Mare, Maramures, Romania, He practiced professional gymnastics for 7 years. He writes screenplays, prose, theater, poetry. In 1999, he met Vanda Ciuban Serban who convinced him to publish his books. Alex has played many characters including The Father in "The Game of Life and Death in the Ashes' Desert" (1998), Macbeth and Cherea in "Macbeth and Caligula in prince Hamlet's vision" (1999), The Eagle in "About" (2000), Don Juan in "Don Juan Dies as Anyone Else", The Grandmother in "Our Father", and so on. In 2009, he moved to Canada with his wife Vanda and his 3 years old daughter Antonia Iulia. Melody Anita, his second daughter, is born on 21 March 2012. He began his film career only after crossing the ocean. Graduated with honors from Trebas Institute of Montreal (Film Production) in January 2012. Then he started Porcovete Pictures together with Vanda Ciuban Serban.
