About Edmundo

I was born in Mexico and moved to the USA when I was twenty-five years old. I crossed the border illegally. The trip from Tijuana to Los Angeles takes three hours by car. It took me more than three days by foot.

Elementary, High School and some College was my basic education in Mexico, but I learned a million more useful things outside formal schooling. My love for reading since I was a little kid pushed me to love all kinds of stories. Drama, horror, adventure, and everything in between.

From my mom, I learned to be humble and to love all people. From my dad, I learned to be proud and to love books and art.

I arrived in L.A. Oct-15-1977 at four in the morning, two hours later I was working at a construction site. In 1989 I got my contractor's license, that year I also received my certificate of Citizenship. At the ceremony of my citizenship, I had to swear that I would fight against all foreign enemies (including Mexico) in favor of my new country. I beg to God that never happens.

I love to play soccer. I love music. Rock, funk, punk, soul, pop. Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, The Clash, The Temptations, and all you can fit in between. Playing pool, listening to rock and having a beer is great, but reading a book, writing a story or watching a good film is even better.

I hate guns, bad people, and evil leaders. I thank God I'm not a racist person. I also hate all kinds of injustices. I love all people, all kinds of good people. I'm sure I would give my life in a second to save any kid in the world. Children are the most precious thing in the world.

I hope one day to shoot a feature film based on one of my stories, that's my main goal and every day I work a little more to be able to reach that goal.
