About Simon

I started out creating an episodic web series titled Metalhedz which debuted via YouTube in February 2014 with seven 6-minute episodes. The show was unique in it's content as it focused on a group of rock music fans and their personal lives and quickly built up a fan base over the course of the first season. This gave way to a crowdfunded second season in 2015 which was bigger in scope, now eight episodes averaging on 12 to 14 minutes each. The show has since picked up an award for Best Web Series in the Digitalmation Awards as well as two further Best Web Series nominations in the Blackbird Film Festival 2015 and Broken Knuckle Film Festival 2015.
In between seasons of the show I have written and directed three short films.
The first was Perspective, shot in a day and released in May 2014, it has since been nominated for Best Editing in the Fife Independent Film Expo 2015 and won Video of The Week at Awardeo.TV.
My second short film, The Demon's Heart, was a combination of photography and filmmaking to tell a story and was completed on May 31st 2015. It has so far won Best Music in the Direct Online Short Film Festival 2015 and has been nominated for Best Narrative Mini, Best Sound Design and Best Story & Structure in the Blackbird Film Festival 2015, as well as making the official selection for seven film festivals.
My third short film, The Cruelty of Beauty, was completed in November 2015 and has already been accepted into two film festivals as December 2015.

Television (Short, Comedy and Drama) Writer When you're young it's all about the sex, partying and rock and roll but as you get older you learn that there are consequences to everything and hangovers really suck! The alternative crowd have always been met with dirty looks and stereotyped views, but no matter how outrageous they may dress they're just the same as everyone else. They fall in love and they fail in love, they have friendship drama and crappy jobs all the same. The series follows three flatmates and their tag along friend as they try desperately to find that one person they can be happy with whilst dealing with all the obstacles that come before them; social awkwardness, insecurity and a difficulty in letting go of the past.
