La’Toya "ElectrKPrincess" Jackson is a dancer, songwriter, and performing artist from Fort Worth, Texas. She received a B.A. from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia where she studied Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Radio, TV, and Film. She also trained in classical ballet, jazz, African, and modern dance at Ballethnic Academy of Dance. She joined the preprofessional dance ensemble Ballethnic Youth Ensemble and participated in the Arthur Mitchell Project receiving instruction from Mr. Arthur Mitchell in advanced master classes and workshops. She has danced in several ballet productions including Ballethnic Dance Company’s Urban Nutcracker, Jazzy Sleeping Beauty, Flyin’ West, and The Leopard Tale.
La’Toya Princess Jackson is a graduate of Harvard University, where she studied music, dance, and performance. She was a company member in the Harvard-Radcliffe Modern Dance Company and a dancer in the Harvard Dance Project. She performed in a Karole Armitage piece, inspired by Everywhen, a special exhibition at Harvard Art Museums and actively performs and records professionally as a professional performing artist, recording artist, and visual artist. She received a Masters of Liberal Arts in Dramatic Arts from the Harvard Extension School.
Additionally, La’Toya Princess Jackson has worked for the Boston Ballet and the Atlanta Ballet. She is a Blacks in Ballet historian for Memoirs of Blacks and Ballet.
