From an advertising writing background, I've written a number of short and feature scripts and attracting several awards and option deals. Bored of waiting for options that were never exercise, I starting making my own shorts and have now directed directed 12 films. One was for a museum installation. The six dramas for Hurcheon Films have been selected for international festivals and collectively nominated for 15 awards. One short "Ace" has won four awards including Best Director and Jury's Choice Best Short. The last completed short "The Penny Dropped" won an Award of Merit in the One Reeler Short Film Competition in the USA in January 2017. Two other films are corporates for schmick.tv and a docushort for Hurcheon Films that's just won Best Documentary in a UK film festival.
I'm working on longer form film projects as writer and/or director. Most recently, I developed the true story that I made into a short film in 2014 into a one-woman show. I produced and directed the show, and it was presented on a London fringe theatre stage in February 2016. This has now evolved into a feature script.
Mostly recently, I'm one of six directors selected to make a short for the Directors UK Alexa Challenge 2017 where the prize was an Alexa camera and a set of anamorphic lenses for a two day shoot. After filming in mid-March, this will be completed by the end of April 2017.
I'm looking for collaborators amongst the creative practitioner community to generate new ideas and inspire new projects.
Unique traits: I'm also a copywriter, corporate script writer, film reviewer, and I've published short stories and joke books. I particularly like making radio commercials. In my other life, I've played women's rugby.
