About Jacco

Born in Amsterdam 1967, married, a daughter and a son. Autodidact, or rather, a lot of education, few diplomas. Started at early age as a roadie, I came to Veronica’s Countdown, a music television show long before MTV broke through. In 1990 I made the switch to (feature-) film. After working for over 15 years on film and television sets, I ran the lighting company Sparks from 1998 thru 2009. Besides, I served as a board member of the ‘Federatie Film Belangen’ for 5 years. In 2003 I started producing and directing. Since 2008, I've been producing branded content, corporate films and commercials for both cinema, television, online and events. In addition, I regularly write concepts and scripts. I'm extremely driven and have a preference for technically challenging and logistically complex projects. Do not expect glamor and glitter. My approach is pragmatic and efficient. With countless hours of experience, I know exactly what to do and what not. No-nonsense attitude and a hard worker. Work hard, play hard, so there’s always time for a joke and a beer after the wrap.

His father lives in The Netherlands, where he works as a foreign labourer. Things are not going too good in Turkey though, Memo and his family are Kurds. When Memo's father hears there's a war going on against the Kurds, he decides to take his family to The Netherlands. But Memo is not all happy about this, even though he almost immediately finds a friend, Jeroen after arriving in The Netherlands. He wants to get back to Kurdistan. Flanders, 1568: Italian minstrel Campanelli tells he followed a Dutchman, the robber of a golden chalice, but failed to prevent him being taken -after banging a country-girl- by the men of a rigid farmer Netelneck, who has him tied-up inside a huge shit-container. After Campanelli frees him, the gold stays inside, and the Dutchman is killed, but the minstrel turns to offer the paying audience a happier version. Seven years later, he scares the Dutchman's posthumous son into bringing him food and convinces the kid he can fly, like his dad, who is on a grand ship, but fails to drag the gold out and is blinded and chased by Netelneck.
