DANCE MAN

DANCE MAN
By James F. Robinson

GENRE: Independent, Comedy, Romance
LOGLINE:

DANCE MAN is a broad comedy with dance elements, a kind of modern, indie exploration of the 1930’s dance film aesthetic, with a slight WIZARD OF OZ vibe.

SYNOPSIS:

A guy named Joe awakes in the middle a street in Koreatown after being hit by a truck. The setting is mid-city LA, but in a slightly surreal alternative universe. He doesn’t know who he is, but discovers he now has a mysterious gift… He can dance… and a mysterious (angelic?) guy named Lefty seems to know everything about him.

Joe becomes intertwined in the personal lives of three women; a dance teacher (Marion), the girlfriend of an Asian Crime Boss (Kiki), and a young Russian ballet dancer (Angel). All three women play a crucial part in Joe’s “Dorothy-in-Oz” journey to discover who he is.
