About Jordan

Jordan Sommers has worked as a producer, writer, director, editor and music consultant in a variety of entertainment mediums. In music, Russell Simmons recruited Jordan, at age 19, to serve as director of A&R for Def Jam where he developed gold and platinum-selling albums. Later, Jordan was hired to create, compile and curate hundreds of ‘Essentials’ (digital box sets) for iTunes. In radio, he created, wrote, produced and hosted a two-hour nationally syndicated special on comedy featuring Chris Rock, Garry Shandling, Roseanne Barr & Martin Short. In television, Jordan co-wrote and produced over 200 sketches, monologues, desk pieces and field segments for Roseanne’s talk show. In film, as a member of the WGA, Jordan rewrote a screenplay for Universal Pictures. His 2012 short film, Photo Finish, was among the top ten finalists chosen by an esteemed panel of judges who included Harvey Weinstein. And in print, Jordan partnered with a UK boutique coffee table book publisher to create and edit a one-of-a-kind tribute opus to Michael Jackson in cooperation with the Estate. The following year he co-founded a U.S. boutique coffee table book publishing company, through which he created, edited, marketed and promoted a one-of-a-kind tribute to Hip-Hop Culture which won an Independent Publisher's Book Award. He lives in Marina Del Rey with his wife, Yasmina and their four-legged babies, Oliver and Mia.
