About Kimberly

Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, filmmaker Kimberly Nicole Walker is an old soul with millennial sensibilities. While penning scripts and working in editorial for five years as a beauty expert for EBONY, Uptown, and Upscale, the writer submitted one of her screenplays to the 2013 GMC Faith and Family Screenplay Competition. Two months later, she received the call that she was a finalist. UPtv acquired her script in 2014 and cast Charles S. Dutton, Loretta Devine and Tatyana Ali to bring “Comeback Dad” to life, garnering Dutton a 2014 NAACP Image Award nomination for his powerful portrayal of “Othell.” Kimberly has a penchant for finding the humor in life’s murkiest moments, creating complex stories that tug on the heart strings but offer up a hearty chuckle. She’s following up her theatrical debut with Faux Show, a comedic docu-series diving into the obsession with a Black woman’s derriere, and Musings of a Hypochondriac, a witty web series detailing her insane beauty blunders. Kimberly also has three TV pilots and is a student at The Groundlings.

Comeback Dad is also currently on Netflix.
