My goodness - time just flys by. how do you keep up with all the social media sites. I have not been on this one for awhile. We have attached Callan McAuliffe (I am number four, Great Gatsby) to our Skateboarding with Saddam project and we have some funding interest - still looking for investors and production partners!

Has anyone out there successfully funded a for profit film using both non-profit resources and private investors?

I don't usually pick up these types of non-profit documentaries, but this story really grabbed my heart and soul! I need to write a grant to be sent to the NEH (national endownment humanity) I have written successful grants before, however, I do not have the time now. I can outline and help. Anyone out there familiar with writing grants? We have a small budget for this project.

Hi Everyone. I am a non-fiction writer and am looking to have my latest book, "Bader Field; How My Family Survived Suicide" (Nightengale Press) made in to a film; either a documentary, short film or major feature. It is a non-fiction family saga that is emotional, powerful and inspirational. As a film it will save lives.......

We have hired a screenwriter to write the script but this is a two part project. We are also doing a non-profit documentary in connection with a non-profit group in Salinas that helps gangs. and need help with writing the grants and possibly the script for the documentary.

Saw your post on length of script. Unfortunately the length does matter. I have had the opportunity to read 100's of scripts and pitch them to studio's, actors etc. and most (in my humble experience) won't look at a script of 165 pages. There are some incredible script consultants out here in LA to choose from shop around and see who can help you and not charge you an arm and a leg! Let me know if you want some suggestions.

Have no idea why but there are people - in the movie industry - who ask for scripts and then are silent for many months. No feedback, no critic - total silent. You ask for feedback - no reaction at all. Gary Kohn - an actor - is such a person. Six months ago he asked for one of my scripts and I am still waiting for a feedback. I guess it will never come.
