Karina completed her Masters in Media Production at Ryerson’s RTA School of Media in Toronto, Canada. Karina first entered the media industry in 2008 during her senior year of high school when she interned at Toronto’s leading news-talk radio station. Over the course of her internship she was involved in numerous aspects of radio production, and worked with the producers and well-known talk show hosts of the station. Since then, Karina has worked on a number of renowned and established television productions and film festivals in Toronto, including: Canada’s Walk of Fame, ICM at TIFF, and several shows at the CBC.
In February 2013, Karina participated in a program where she travelled to Africa with her fellow peers and professors, along with DIVOG (a local Ghanaian non-profit organization) to teach English, build a school, setup a community radio station and film a documentary. Karina worked with the Mini Pop Kids who perform family-friendly covers of today’s top hits. She was also the Production Manager for the promo video of Toronto’s 10th annual ServeStock fundraiser event, raising money for ServeCanada (underprivileged youth). Karina has done on-air work, hosting the Santa Day 2013 festival parade at Fenelon Falls, ON. Karina had the privilege to experience the Australian industry while on exchange in 2014. She spent 2015 in Los Angeles, interning at Everywhere Studios and permanently relocated to LA in August 2016.
Karina co-produced a pilot episode for a new reality television series she plans to pitch. The show (“SWiPE”) received three nominations for The TARA’s 2015 – the annual awards show for Ryerson University’s RTA School of Media. Karina is currently working on pitching her first pilot script, and is in the works of producing a couple of projects simultaneously - as well as creating an app. Karina also enjoys performing, public speaking, acting and event planning. Karina is fluent in English, Hebrew and Russian – with knowledge in Spanish.
