DEAN'S SHADOW
By Michael Allen

GENRE: Thriller
LOGLINE:

Ten years after graduating high school, a group of friends who have known each other their entire lives get together for a reunion after-party that turns deadly when fate finds a way of releasing an evil force that has no intention of returning.

SYNOPSIS:

Dean and Lou enter the house first, but they are soon followed by three very beautiful girls. Cammie, Tori, and Nessa have come to party as Dean pours everyone a drink and toasts their ten-year high school reunion. The front door flies open to reveal Roy and Jona, the last of our party attendants coming in fashionably late.

Dean starts bartending and the conversations stay lively until Jona notices something peculiar about Dean's coffee table. It's a Ouija board and it comes with a history. Jona is warned not to play games with the board, but she asks a probing question that everyone will end up paying for when the spirit in the board begins revealing everyone's deepest secret.

Dean’s house holds everyone hostage as the spirit reveals shameful secrets one by one and takes lives as it does. Tori chokes to death for the terrible secret she kept from Nessa. Lou finds himself locked in a coffin when his dark secret is revealed.

And then the attention turns to Cammie and Roy. Not only have they been having an affair to Jona’s surprise, but they also find out they are actually brother and sister. That’s when they find themselves in a deadly maze with moving walls they have to dodge or suffer getting crushed. While Cammie finds her way out, Roy doesn’t have the same luck. Cammie looks back to find Roy’s body being dragged around by moving walls that swallow him up just before the illusion disappears.

In Cammie’s despair, she takes her life before anyone has a chance to react. While Dean and Jona watch, the board turns its attention on Nessa. She spontaneously combusts after her secret is revealed. Visibly shaken, Jona looks at Dean wondering what could possibly happen next.

That’s when Dean reveals that Jona is innocent. This revelation doesn’t mean the evil spirit doesn’t have anything to do with her though. She is sentenced to suffer in the Devil’s Toy Box. A visual of this strange phenomenon is brought to life as Jona goes insane locked inside the box.

The ultimate truth of it all is finally revealed in a mind-blowing conclusion. What was it all about? How was it so perfectly orchestrated? These questions are answered when a final revelation is exposed that the game could have been stopped at any time and all of this could have been avoided if anyone had only known how.
