Matthew Macaluso

Matthew Macaluso brings over 15 years of teaching and curriculum / instructional design experience to Human Intelligence. His goal is to provide senior-level policy makers and actors with relevant United States history content and understanding that they would need to make not only more informed decisions, but more authentic productions.
Matt has designed and written programs and instruction for school systems, corporate training contractors, and adult education programs as well as curriculum for world history, United States history, trial law and several adult education classes. His understanding of how people learn as well as the factors that motivate them to absorb information, has allowed him to hone and refine his craft and science of communicating and presenting information in a way that is logical, relevant, and most of all -- concise and articulate. Since 1998 his students have shown consistent, positive growth in their learning and understanding of historical concepts and content without exception.
In 2015 Matt was the recipient of the Somers Education Foundation grant that merged artistic expression with thesis writing. This cross-curricular approach allowed his students to express their understanding of writing in a non-traditional, artistically creative way.
Matt was the author of the article What Is The Core Essence Of Teaching? that appeared in the Manhattanville College School of Education news in the Fall of 2013. He also serves the Manhattanville College School of Education as a board member and is a Supervising Practitioner at Springfield College.
In 2015 Matt authored the book Pull Your Head out of Your Assumptions: What Teachers Know About Teaching with Page Publishing.
