Vincent Cortez discovered filmmaking and storytelling in his youth: a hobby quickly became a passion. As a multi-talented individual, many times serving as director, editor, visual effects artist, composer, etc) Vincent’s work tends to cross and blend genre boundaries with compelling stories and characters at the forefront. His narrative feature and short film projects have been distributed globally, in theaters, and on cable. His recent directorial short, "Darkness of Night", a dark fantasy horror drama, shot for around $1,000, was selected by and premiered on Robert Rodriguez's El Rey Network. His work as a producer and editor can be seen in two recent features, "East Side Sushi" (dir. Anthony Lucero) and "Alarmed" (dir. Matt Lofgren), both of which have gone on to be distributed to audiences worldwide.
Balancing his energy between narrative films, documentaries, and corporate/commercial work, Vincent finds the most satisfaction in connecting with an audience through the storytelling process.
