Longtime entertainment executive, producer and technologist
Matthew C. Mazer is president of Historical Media, which is a film production company based in New York City that places its focus on producing and promoting historical documentaries. Mazer made more than a dozen trips to Poland between 2005 and 2008 to complete filming on Buried Prayers, a documentary feature that follows an international team’s archeological discoveries at Maidanek, a former Nazi German death camp.
He has been employed in the fields of media and technology for three decades, holding executive-level posts in marketing, systems integration and business development. Among his past employers are Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (NYSE: DIS), De Laurentiis Entertainment Group, Goldcrest Films & TV and Sony Corp. of America (SCA). Brand Leverage, which was Mazer’s former consulting practice, advised a number of leading entertainment entities, including Sony Music Entertainment - Japan; Loews Theaters; World Wrestling Entertainment (NYSE: WWE), Dentsu (Japan); NASCAR; and Feld Entertainment, which includes Barnum & Bailey, Ringling Bros., Disney On Ice, among others.
Mazer’s work includes Good Morning Vietnam, The Color of Money, The Little Mermaid, Three Men and a Baby, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, All Dogs Go To Heaven, The Swan Princess and Keepers of Eden. His 40-year entertainment career began in theater restoration, programming and exhibition.
In addition, Mazer oversees the development of secure, web-based applications and hardware for corrections and social services organizations as chairman of Prometheus Technologies. These products enhance community connection and increase user services while cutting costs by finding efficiencies for governmental agencies.
Mazer, his wife and 11-year-old daughter reside in New York City.
