Vanessa Carmona is an award-winning screenwriter and video producer. She has won, placed finalist spots, and gained international recognition for her scripts, including television pilot script, "Everything That Happened", which won the 2013 BBC Writer's Room script contest and lead to a series option with a UK-based production company and more recently Script Magazine and The Writer Store’s WriteStart Competition which was won with her historical drama script, "Everleigh Yours”. A Central California native, Vanessa studied as an undergrad at Columbia College in LA and The New School in NYC in the BA Film Production program and received her MFA in Screenwriting and Playwriting from Regents University in London.
She has also been employed to LA and NY-based production companies, literary management, and professionals for full service creative development, feedback, and critique for feature film and television scripts — such as Asylum Entertainment and The Weinstein Company and most recently worked as a video producer and coordinator at Reuters. She has several years of production experience under her belt and has produced several short and feature independent films. Vanessa is also an active member of the filmmaking community and a member of organizations such as IFP and BAFTA and also voluntarily serves as an official judge to film festivals such as WaterSprite Festival (Cambridge, UK) and the NY Independent Film Festival, as well as a Creative Director and mentor for the MSE Foundation, which nurtures and promotes TV and film diversity from young writers.
