I started my training in Features in 1978 or thereabouts. My mother, 2 uncles and aunt were make-up artists so I grew up around the business and was in my first film at a couple years old. Film sets were and remain a second home, it's a thrill still to hear the gennie as you approach a set.
I trained under legendary make-up artists, Stuart Freeborn, Tom Smith, Connie Reeve and Jayne Royle. I chiefed my first film at the age of 24, it was called "Party Party", I co-chiefed "Full Metal Jacket" for Stanley Kubrick at the age of 25 and now have about 78 IMDB credits, 3 BAFTA nominations and 1 RTS nomination. Having been taught by such smart make-up artists, I can acquit myself well of all disciplines in the craft: effects, facial hair, ageing, . I'm also handy with hair, especially period hair and particularly real looking wigs.
