About Christian

Christian Lee started out as a talent agent in San Francisco at Stars, The Agency, then went into advertising sales at CBS Network before studying acting at the William Esper Studio in NYC. He won Best Actor at the Rome Italy Asian Film Fest 2004 for the Film “Outsiders”, as producer he was awarded Best Family Feature at the Houston International Film Fest 2008 for the Chinese movie “Slam” (acquired by Sony International). He directed voice overs for Japanese Anime into English. As acquisitions programming manager, he securing films for MediaCorp’s FilmArt. To hone his skills further as a writer, director, producer and editor he co-founded BananaMana Films, a multiple award-winning production company.

BananaMana Films Pte Ltd specialises in creating Asian scripted dramas in English for TV, Film and OTT platforms. Co-founded by Jason Chan and Christian Lee; both multi award-winning writers, directors and producers. These “New Wave’ filmmakers leverage advances in digital technology to the production workflow. Their 13 episodic TV series “What Do Men Want?” was awarded “Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series” at LA WebFest 2014. Their second series "Perfect Girl" received 16 international nominations and 7 awards, most notably: “Best Drama Series” (Toronto WebFest 2015), "Best International Web Series" (Atlanta WebFest 2014) and “Outstanding Drama Series” (LA WebFest 2015). Their most recent project “Bang Bang Club” recently won a Remi Award at Houston International Film Festival 2016, and has been nominated for Best Editing and Best Original Score at the Indie Series Awards in Los Angeles. Perfect Girl (2014)
