About Carme

I am a filmmaker, writer, and director currently living in Barcelona, Spain. I like to explain stories through powerful images and I make them real in a journey from my soul to the one I'm talking to.

I've been working in communication for more than 15 years. Since 2011, completely dedicated to filmmaking. I was lucky to be awarded best script in the Sitges International Film Festival for my first short film 'Camille'. That gave me strong to go further in my career with a feature documentary about jazz in Barcelona called 'The Jump!', released in the In-Edit Beefeater International Film Festival and Official Selection in Cinema On The Bayou Film Festival. I've been directing several short films and audiovisual works for different clients in Barcelona as the Museum Of History, the General Clinic Hospital or the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Nowadays, I’m in postproduction of two short films and writing my first feature fiction film.

You can watch my works on . Looking forward to know more about you!

  • In Search Of Truth

    In Search Of Truth (2015)
Film (Documentary and Short) Director When the American scientist Lynn Margulis passed away, in November 2011, I was shocked in a wired way. And I said "wired" because I have never met Lynn Margulis, but of course I knew who she was. National Medal of Science, mother of four children, she developed a new theory to understand thoroughly evolution, but her work is still in the dark for the big audience. After her death, I started to surf networks, looking for reactions. There was one in Twitter that attracted my attention. A man said: 'Am I the only one who thinks that Meryl Streep will be a great Lynn Margulis?'. I thought he was right and from that second until now I couldn't stop thinking about making a movie about her. So the first impulse was to record something about her, and that "something" is the short film we are going to see. You are going to see the emotional reaction of women that work with her and were friends of Lynn Margulis. Those interviews were so close to her death that it will be impossible to repeat ...

  • The Jump! WTF Experience

    The Jump! WTF Experience (2014)

Meanwhile, just a few feet under at the notorious Jamboree Jazz Club of Barcelona, a hundred young musicians stand against the despair. Breathtakingly talented but under the radar, they are struggling now as others have struggled in the past. TheWTF is close to disappearing. For Pere Ferrer, one of the first musicians that played at Jamboree in 1959, this doesn't come by surprise; he has inaugurated and ended many clubs over his lifetime. Along with Wally Besser, the other only survivor of Jamboree's first band, the seniors offer a fresh perspective, talking about the old times, where Franco's dictatorship oppressed and restricted in other ways.
