SYNOPSIS:

Sweeping saga of one man's obsession with violins and music set against the backdrop of Germany and the US prior to World War II. The US ambassador to Kaiser Wilhelm in Germany (DJ) begins his violin collection. His daughter Caroline meets a young man aboard a ship on her way back to the US that she eventually marries. This unethical man tries to strip DJ of his fortune, fails, and eventually gains riches and power another way, becoming a German Baron. DJ and his other daughter Adeline fight to preserve their family from the Baron's avarice and questionable loyalties. The violin collection they gather serves as a cover while they travel and defend their nation from those who would see it fall to the Fuhrer.
