It is my love for both the technical and artistic tasks that first sparked my passion for the field of Animation and Visual Effects. My five years of experience as a Character FX Artist has allowed me to tailor my skills to both create world class art/simulations, as well as support my fellow artists through the creation of tools, workflows and organizational standards. With a technical background, which includes a Minor in Computer Science, I can easily support a wide array of pipeline necessities, although my focus is creating FX simulations including particles, fluids, rigid bodies, cloth and hair. With additional years as a 3D Generalist, I am also skilled in 3D modeling (character and hard-surface), animation, lighting and compositing.
Along with my computer skills, I am also a professional photographer and graphic designer. From landscape photography to fashion, food to real estate, my photos and designs have been exhibited at art galleries and on client’s websites for years. My food photography for a client’s blog was most recently published on the popular website: foodgawker. I approach each project as a unique opportunity to share my client’s passion through still and moving imagery.
In recent years, I have also expanded into the world of teaching. I am a lecturer at California College of the Arts, where I have created curriculums and taught multiple semesters of classes, including Intro to Visual Effects and Intro to Autodesk Maya. It is my goal to impart my years of experience to my students, helping them to grow in their technical and artistic skills while simultaneously introducing them to the rigors and visual quality expected in the VFX industry.
