Russ Parr’s career has evolved from a stand-up comedian to recording artist to a top-rated, nationally-syndicated radio host, heard weekdays by 1.9 million listeners in 25 cities across America and now….to independent filmmaker.

By day, Russ can be heard from 6am – 10am on his nationally syndicated morning radio show, The Russ Parr Morning Show where he’s been for over 15 years on 93.9 WKYS-FM in Washington, DC and syndicated nationally over 14 years.

Once Russ mustered up the courage to turn a 10 year old script into his first feature film, The Last Stand (2006)(Guy Torrey, Kevin Hart, Anthony Anderson, Tami Roman), he officially caught the bug. With Uptoparr Productions, Inc. in conjunction with Swirl Films, Russ has written, produced and directed four other films including:; Something Like a Business (2010) (Kevin Hart, David Alan Grier, Tasha Smith; Love For Sale (2008)(Jackie Long, Mya, Jason Weaver, Melissa Ford; 35 and Ticking (2011)(Kevin Hart, Megan Good, Nicole Ari Parker, Tamala Jones) currently airing on BET, TV One and Showtime and available on DVD, and The Undershepherd (2012)(Isaiah Washington, Lamman Rucker, Louis Gossett, Jr, Vanessa Bell Calloway).
