It took years for me to realize it was a compliment when a highly-respected television news anchor told me, “You’re screwed. You do too many things too well.” All I heard was the “you’re screwed” part.

I’m an award-winning broadcast journalist, writer, author, actor, voice talent, producer and make sensational fried chicken.

I’ve spent decades producing news for national television networks and feature stories for an educational channel you’ve never heard of, I’ve written for newspapers, magazines and syndicated radio with internationally-known talent. I’ve acted in corporate videos for Fortune 500 companies and in community theater, appearing in plays as varied as “Harvey,” “The Odd Couple” and “Moonlight and Magnolias” to “Inherit the Wind” and “The Diary of Anne Frank.”

The news anchor was right. The world seems to want to pigeon-hole people. I’ve just never found one of those tiny holes that was comfortable.
