By Ricky Long

GENRE: Romance, Comedy, Drama
LOGLINE:

Told in three different acts, we take a humorous as well as dramatic look at three different couples struggling to maintain their complicated relationships...

SYNOPSIS:

Women are from Venus and men are from Mars can be very accurate. The term 'Venus Hates Mars' can easily channel the fine line between love and hate. Crossing that line willingly into hate is a strong emotion. Being pushed over that line can certainly fuel an even stronger emotion. This unfortunate disconnect occurs because of the simple misunderstanding of men and women being wired differently in their thoughts and actions. Such is the case as explore the misunderstandings, trials, and tribulations of three couples...

MARCUS and NICOLE GLADMORE have been married going on thirteen years. Being high school sweethearts, they were each other's firsts and have been together ever since. Married out of college, the couple now has four children, a nice home in a nice neighborhood, and very well to do careers. On the surface, they seem to have everything they want and need. But there's one thing missing... Romance. The high demand of their careers and family life have diminished the spice and attraction in the relationship. While Marcus seems to be nonchalant about the situation, Nicole takes notice and attempts to spice up the love life however she can, but to no avail. Nothing she does seems to catch Marcus' attention. From wearing sexy lingerie to trying oral to even porno. Nothing. They find themselves arguing more and and loving less. In an attempt, perhaps out of desperation, she decides to take a major risk and suggest every man's fantasy... A THREESOME. This suggestion, of course, perks up Marcus to perfection as he is all for the idea. This enthusiasm, at first, makes Nicole suspicious and nervous. But in an effort to please her husband, she decides to go through with it.The third party, TISHA, is vibrant, thick, sexy, and erotic. She's an exotic dancer who is everything a man could ask for. Marcus is the one who brings Tisha home and a reluctant Nicole decides to down some alcohol and go through with it. The aftermath seems to do more harm than good as Nicole starts to think that there's more to this stripper that meets the eye with Marcus. And the fact that Marcus was the one that brought her home only fuels her doubt. After doing some digging, Nicole discovers her worst fears that could cause harrowing results in her and her husband's marriage...

VIRGIL RICHARDSON and NADIA CLARKE seem like a very unlikely couple. Their history is a story onto itself and a little far from the normal scene. Virgil has never been very desirable to women. He's spent most of his life with his head buried in the books. He never knew how to talk to women. So after obtaining a six figure career, the lonely Virgil now wants someone to share it with. After failing in the club scene and get togethers, he decides to go the route of an escort service for companionship. Enter Nadia Clarke and she has quite a past of her own. Having run away from a broken home in her teenage years, she dropped out of school and made her way to Atlanta with her good looks, becoming an amateur model. She's had a hard life and found comfort with a former NFL player, LATHAM TODD. Promising her stardom, as most do, Latham wows her into making more money by doing some "acting". Soon, Nadia finds herself "acting" in the world of adult movies. After some off the field action, she winds up pregnant with his child. Latham is a true player (no pun intended) and a womanizer and the first to show Nadia any kind of affection. But his wandering ways verbal abuse, would drive her away. He soon leaves her a single mother, after she discovers that he is a married man. In need of money, she unwillingly becomes an escort. Just in time for her to meet the seemingly desperate Virgil. The date with Virgil is unlike anything she has ever experienced. In meeting her, Virgil falls hard and treats her she is a queen on a pedestal. He wins her over and convinces her to get out of that life and into a relationship with him. Nadia, seeing his lifestyle and seeing Virgil as a 'safety sanctuary', she gives in.

Time goes by and a new baby is born to the couple. All seems well in the household and Virgil couldn't be happier. Fast forward to present day and Nadia's past seems to catch up to her. Seems Latham is still in the picture and Nadia can't seem to resist his temptations. Unbeknownst to an unsuspecting Virgil, what seems like simple parenting is actually pure raw dog sex between the former couple. The situation gets more and more intense between the two and the more they get together, the more Nadia starts to dwift back towards Latham's ways and further from her current boyfriend, Virgil. The old saying of 'What's done in the dark always come to light' rings true once Virgil discovers the truth. Heartbroken, Virgil dives into drastic measures to save his relationship. But with what Nadia's been through and with Latham's status and sweet talking, Virgil will be fighting an uphill battle to maintain his relationship.

ANGELA PAYNE has always had issues with her choice in men. She has always been attracted to the 'bad boys', 'thugs' and/or the 'wannabe hustlers'. Such as the case with her on again off again boyfriend, PRESTON WHITTAKER. Angela is divorced with no children but has always maintained a great paying career as a professor. Preston, on the other hand, has never maintained a steady job. He's always made a living in the form of living off others. He has been dismissed by every woman he has dated in life. He loves music and has goals and ambitions to be a rapper/musician. Problem is he is nearing forty years old and has never gotten past first base in having a rap career. Angela has tried to ride out with him and his dreams, but her wheels are starting to wear thin and will eventually fall off. To top it all off, his music really sucks. And this is according to sources and peers.

Everyone knows this but its all falling on Preston's tone deaf ears. His joking manner and his intense drive was cute to Angela in the beginning. But she is at near end, but in all determined to make a man out of Preston (or "P-Nut" as he likes to call himself). Much to the dismay of her older 'know it all' sister, GLADYS PAYNE. She's one of those alleged 'strong independent women' or in plain English, 'MAN HATER'. She's been where Angela's been and is confused why Angela keeps putting herself in these kinds of relationships. And she makes no apologies in letting her know every chance she gets. In addition to the Angela's issues with Preston, she does have an colleague/admirer who would be more ideal and more on her level. He goes by the name of THEODORE WEST and he is considered a man's man to any woman he meets. But his eyes are on Angela. But Angela, herself, doesn't want to Just give up again like she has done in the past and be back at square one again. She does see the good in Preston and knows he is capable of stepping up to the plate and be the man she needs him to be. But can Preston, himself, be the man she needs him to be.

It's all in the name and game of love and in this game, Some will win and some may lose...
