Stefan Markovski is a contemporary Macedonian writer, member of Macedonian Writers’ Association, author of 8 published books of prose, poetry and philosophy.
Born in the town of Gevgelija (01. 12. 1990), he’s completed primary and secondary education in his hometown, graduating on the Department of Comparative Literature, Faculty of Philology "Blazhe Koneski". He’s an alumni at the Institute of Philosophy of Ss. Cyril and Methodius State University of Skopje and a postgraduate student of Screenwriting at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje.
He’s an author of a feature film script titled “My Name Is Freedom” (postgraduate work) as well as many short film scripts written in Macedonian.
During his relatively recent but active study and work within the field of Screenplay he’s been reading authors from the rang of Syd Field, Linda Seger, Richard Krevolin, David Trottier etc., testing their premises and suggestions, learning to practically include the central screenwriting paradigms during the processes of creation and maintaining of tension, the creation of setup, pinches, the fast and slow pacing points, the transcending of the classical protagonist-antagonist conflict, being introduced to the three-act structure, Syd Field’s plot points and all other concepts necessary for quality screenplay on both content and structure.
Markovski’s works have been translated and published in few European languages.
His prolific writing career has granted him many literary prizes and honors within Macedonia inspiring him to offer his work on an international scale.
