Currently creative writing is what makes me happiest in my career, and having been an accountant for twenty-plus-years, co-owned a service business and a retail business I have learned and experienced all manner of situations. I have finished three children's mystery books and waiting on illustrations that my daughter is working on. This is time consuming and a part time work in progress. While waiting I do accounting work part time, have published small works for the East Texas Writers Guild anthology 2016 Anthology: Bridges.
My experience includes writing clear and concise documents presenting information that justified recommended actions, expressing facts and ideas clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner suited to the intended audience. Also writing and briefing on policies and procedures, reviewed and edited reports for accuracy, grammar, adherence to policy, organization of material, clarity of expression and appropriateness for the intended audiences. I have also worked with a web designer to design our web site, researched other sites and programs to evaluate them and make sure not to copy others, but to design a site that would fit our needs and also be unique and informative.
Owning a business requires working as a supervisor, manager, and an employee; therefore being inspiring and guiding others while monitoring their work was a large part of my job. I motivated by being what I wanted my employees to be, working beside them and leading by example, providing training and guidance. I feel team work is most important to any organization, there are not many people that can accomplish goals alone and as a business owner I was a team leader every day, we achieved many goals and occasionally exceed our expectations.
Unique traits: Staying up to late at night, positive person, and like laughing. Raised on a cotton farm, but mostly an in town gal who loves convenience, hate cooking, although I love good food.
