Kevin L. Tucker is a Georgia native whose vocal talents range from gospel to classical music. He has been described as having both a “very expressive and smooth vocal style”. He honed his vocal and performing talents in church, civic functions, concert ensembles and performing arts groups. His love for different genres of music was inspired by gospel quartets, the classic R& B groups, Nat King Cole, Luther Vandross, Norm Lewis and Luciano Pavarotti just to name a few. Kevin began his vocal studies under the direction of Mark Ensley of Lagrange College. Mr. Tucker received further studies at Morris Brown College, where he studied Music Education with concentration in Vocal Performance.
In musicals he has performed excerpts from Guys and Dolls, Grease, The Phantom of The Opera with the Lagrange Entertainers and Morris Brown College Entertainers. Also, he performed in the Christmas Musical Black Nativity: A Gospel Celebration with True Colors Theater under the direction of Kenney Leon. Mr. Tucker states that these roles, allowed him to expand his range as an actor and vocalist. Also it earned him a reputation as a very entertaining performer.
In opera and choral ensembles, Kevin recently had the opportunity to perform with Martina Arroyo Prelude to a performance in the Tales of Hoffmann. He has performed with Georgia State University Opera and Americolor Opera Alliance of Atlanta, Georgia. In choral ensembles, he has performed with The Lawrence Weaver Choral, Atlanta Voices and The Luke Frazier City Singers of New York. He was asked to be a soloist for the Georgia State Capital program for the push for the Patient First Act bill. Also, Kevin performed at the Herndon Home Christmas and Jazz music series, TTB Trio, The North Avenue Presbyterian Radio broadcast and acted as program director and performer with the Lagrange Housing Authority after School Program for the Black History Month celebration.
In recording and television, Mr. Tucker has performed and recorded with Christine Horn an indie label Alternative R& B artist, Malcolm Caulori a contemporary composer of the recording Dangerous Liaisons and LeSean Lewis’s recital recording concert. In television Kevin was given the opportunity to announce the 2010 American Idol Show in a jingle fashion on Fox news. Also, he performed with Americolor Opera Alliance on TBN performing excerpts from the company’s premier opera catalogue.
Kevin L. Tucker believes that music should be a life changing event, which lasts past the moment. One that will entertain, inform, inspire and cause positive change.
