About Alicia

Alicia Herder hails from Indianapolis, Indiana. Growing up in a town where she was told she couldn’t go to college, Alicia has made a career of fighting past the limits of family, poverty, and pain, channeling her emotion into films that address these issues head on. Alicia’s stories grapple with girl issues – specifically how do different girls struggle with trauma, beauty, and resilience that emerge from intimate love or the lack of it. Alicia is also a theatre director and was a Finalist at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Washington, D.C. Alicia is currently finishing her M.F.A. in Film Production at the prestigious University of California – Los Angeles.
