I was born with 2 blood diseases causing a very rare and dangerous combination. I am a survivor of domestic violence, having endured 11 years of horrific violence and defeating verbal abuse. I am currently working on documenting my experiences and survival as a result of the lasting injuries I have sustained. My life has forever been changed as I now live in horrific pain and irreversible damage as a direct result of the violence I sustained. There is simply not enough first hand stories as to the life-changing and long lasting bodily damage. I am reaching out for help because I feel that my story does need to be told and could possibly help others who feel that they do not have a choice but to remain in the hell they have found themselves in. I do not know where to look or how to reach out to so I am reaching out to whoever I can. There is so much more to my story, including the abandonment I have felt by those closest to me due to my current condition. I am now chronically ill and labeled permanent disabled, a direct result of the violence I suffered. I just need someone, anyone to care about what has happened to me and others. I also want to organize a walk from New Hampshire to Nashville, using my scooter in hopes of not only bringing much needed attention to domestic violence but the lasting effects and the costs associated with the injuries sustained. These costs are now passed on to our new families as many of us have remarried.
