As a composer, Cyrus Duff has been interested in collaborations across different media, and he has always incorporated theatrical and filmic elements into his concert music, which has been performed most recently at the Yellow Barn International Chamber Music Festival. He has also composed scores and sound design for videos, theater pieces, and films, including most recently Michelle Mboya’s The Camel’s Back, winner of Yale’s Lamar prize. He spent time last year directing Yale’s experimental theater ensemble, the Control Group, in a series of multimedia projects. Cyrus is a junior at Yale studying music, with a particular interest in the intersections of contemporary musicology and art theory.
