A director (film, television, documentary), scriptwriter (scripted, non-scripted/documentary formats) and acting coach, my work has received several prestigious international awards.
I am a prolific and generous creative leader, a precise craftsman and trainer of a-list actors and Pulitzer-nominated writers. My training, artistic practice and research have given me a deep knowledge of the principles that underpin the craft of drama, its performance and presentation for stage and screen and afforded me multi-year partnerships with world-class arts organizations and industry leading institutions, most notably the University of Cambridge, Drama Centre London and the Hellenic Festival for Imalis’ Live Project in Epidauros (Master Class for DCL’s MA in Acting covering the Greeks & Elizabethans), and the Hippokrene Font New Play Development Program.
As an artistic director and founder of a ground-breaking European cultural development initiative, I have extensive experience in workshop production series programming, talent management and team building, partner and stakeholder management, internal governance, administrative, legal and government compliance at Regional and European levels, as well as marketing and audience development.
Highly rigorous and process oriented, my approach and personal style to project development and collaboration is open, versatile and fundamentally curious, seeking inspiration from a balance of inner resource and contact with others. Cool-headed, effective I am particularly skilled at problem-solving and salvaging productions in difficulty.
A native English, French and Greek writer and speaker, I am an artist with direct access to three of the major traditions of world drama, I move with exceptional ease within and between languages and cultures beyond my immediate sphere, and am quick to identify the universal value of story elements and performance processes regardless of origin.
