Why Filmmaker/Art Department? Well as a filmmaker I create story content and in doing so the process involves a carefully thought out script that sometimes takes several rewrites and edits to get the final one. I started creating films as soon as I could get my hands on a video camera and that then lead to a young filmmaker shooting short films with his cousins. After that my passion for film only grew and I began to research and expand my knowledge on what it is to make film. There is a lot of work in the process of filmmaking and it involves often at its basic level a director who is often the producer and sometimes also takes on other roles, but with the help of other crew members often including and not limited to: director of photography, lighting, production assistants, set decorators and much more. Once you get into a more established production you can start adding in all the additional crew members that really put a film together at its best, but we all have to start somewhere. I didn’t start calling myself a filmmaker till my later years in college when I studied film and began to work more in the field of contracting with professional clients and establishing a skill.
Which brings me to Art Department; the skill/role that I took on aside from wanting to direct/write. I typically am what they call a Production Designer or Art Director and often times Set Designer, but really the main idea behind that is often to collect props, decorate locations, coordinate with what the director wants and executing that vision. Most of my work has been showcased in short films, features, as well as commercial work. A lot of what I do are stories that I believe in and really teams that I enjoy working with. All I want is to do what I love and be able to do it all the time, so this is why I built this site, to reach out to other creative professionals who are interested in working together to create something great. Thank you taking the time to check out my website and I hope we connect soon.
