My first “below the line” film production job in 1994, was fresh out of High School and just before staring Biology studies in university on a 3 weeks shoot for a German TV-Movie. After graduating as a Marine Biologist, practical on the job training followed. Directing and producing on one of the longest running full length Nature and Travel Documentary show on German TV had me traveling.

While producing and shooting professionally in over 44 countries around the globe you learn fast that every day on location every hour counts. The sun does not wait for anybody so planning and timing is of the essence. Finding the balance of two extremes: as a Director always pushing the boundaries for the ultimate angle but as a Producer not to get carried away by keeping the entire production on schedule and in budget have resulted in some unique problem solving and storytelling skills.

Now back full circle as director/producer exploring “above the line” engagements back in the Feature film arena. Being able to draw from over two decades of production experience and understanding the technical and logistical needs during production and in post-production is an invaluable asset: From shooting RED Dragon in the midst of the Pacific to mastering in 4K with DaVinci Resolve on a shoestring.
