About Miodrag

Miodrag Guberinic grew up in Serbia and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade with a BFA in Costume and Fashion Design in 2005. He was awarded a full scholarship to Northwestern University's Stage Design Program, and graduated with an MFA in Theater Costume Design in 2011.

Since moving to New York City in 2011, he has been designing extensively in wide range of theater productions from contemporary to avant-garde, always exploring clothing as a tool to tell the story and express the character.

In addition to costume design, Miodrag has an interest for many other areas of design. His strong art background and construction skills enable him to fully realize ideas from concept to the finished product. Over the past four years, he has developed numerous one-of-a-kind projects for various clients.

His most recent project was development of costume crafts and prototypes of iconic helmets and shoulder pieces for Madonna's Rebel Heart tour 2015. Previously, he was part of the team working on Prada Iconoclasts installation in NY and Beijin, crafting crystal looking accessories and makeup.

In 2011 he started collaboration with Spaeth Design Company in NYC, where he had the opportunity to design and create small scale costume, craft and puppetry work, which has been featured in the holiday season - window display designs for Bloomingdale's, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor.

In 2013 he had opportunity to join and start working with display creative team at Bergdorf Goodman and was part of several installation including work on holiday window displays.
His most recent window display work is with Burke & Pryde studio in Brooklyn where he worked on various soft sculpture and paper projects for variaty of clients like Prada, St John and Tiffany &Co.

His commissioned crafts and costumes were shown not only in New York City but across United States as well as internationally at DFS Galleria in Singapore and New Retail shopping centerers in Rio, Brazil and Seul, Korea.

Besides love for windows Mio has had the great opportunity to design costumes for advertising and large-scale commercial events such as The Cosmic Opera at The Hammerstein Ballroom NYC, and The Black Party annual Event in 2012 and 2013 at Roseland Ballroom
