By Rosalie Muller-Boiral

GENRE: Mystery, Romance, Crime, Drama
LOGLINE:

On the run for a death she may or may not have caused, an emotionally troubled woman must face conspiracies and betrayals that threaten the lives of her loved-ones and herself.

SYNOPSIS:

"Illusions" is written along the lines of shows like "Big Little Lies" and "Guilt." The series is about the determined Selena, who after being targeted as the prime suspect in a murder, struggles to begin life anew under an assumed identity. In the pilot, Selena, an aspiring Chicana writer in her mid-twenties, flees a murder scene in Mexico to go to Los Angeles where she moves in with Robert, a striving actor. She soon learns that she is the prime suspect in her husband’s ex-girlfriend’s murder. Regrettably, Selena was injured and can't remember the murder and her potential involvement in it. In a flashback, Selena recalls fighting with Cynthia over Diego, before Cynthia knocks her out. Later, Selena wakes up with a knife in her hand and Cynthia’s corpse lying next to her. Panicked, Selena wants to contact her husband but refrains from doing it to protect herself. Fortunately, Selena finds comfort in Robert. Sharing their passions and childhood stories brings them closer, but also increases Robert’s girlfriend’s jealousy. Now, with the police looking for her, Selena must find a way to recover her memory or be a fugitive and stand to lose everything and everyone she cares about.
