SYNOPSIS:

Sam Rivers has been a hard-working respected character actor for almost 35 years. He has not appeared in a new movie since 2010, and is content with his retirement. As the story begins, Sam has returned to his hometown of Las Vegas for a rare public appearance and book signing. He stays at the Sam's Town hotel on the Las Vegas "Boulder Strip" and brings with him an old acoustic guitar that he has held onto since 1977. Over the course of the weekend, Sam, through a stranger he befriends and an old acquaintance he reunites with, will look back on long and crazy his journey from growing up on the then-growing Las Vegas Strip to making his way to the glistening lights of Hollywood. That journey will also see him reliving memories of his strained relationship with his father. When it is all over, Sam will be forced to confront the life changing event he has carried with him since the night of October 3, 1977.
