Bart Coughlin

Bart Coughlin, a freelance writer for the animated TV show, ALVINNN!!! AND THE CHIPMUNKS has been in the animation industry for 20 years. Prior to this he has written the spec script, Happy-Go-Lucky that was optioned by DreamWorks Animation and then picked up by Nickelodeon. It's currently in production, scheduled for a March '18 release. He is also working with Technicolor/OuiDo developing a new animated series. In addition to this, he sold the screenplay, Sheepish, to IDT/Starz Animation.

Prior to writing full time, Bart worked as a Character TD/Rigger at Dreamworks Animation and PDI/Dreamworks in Silicon Valley. He worked on the following animated films: Antz, Shrek, Shark Tale, Flushed Away, Bee Movie, How to Train Your Dragon, Croods, Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, How to Train Your Dragon 2, B.O.O., and Croods 2 (upcoming). Bart worked on many of the main characters in these films including Shrek, Po and Tigress, and Gobber and Monstrous Nightmare. He eventually specialized in face rigging and was a face lead on Kung Fu Panda 2 and B.O.O.
