Shaun Michau

Shaun Michau is a Cape Town based drummer, composer, sound designer and producer with a bachelors degree in music (Jazz Studies) from the University of Cape Town.

Shaun has been the drummer and co-owner of the highly acclaimed jazz group, Breakfast Included for the past 12 years. Recently the band released its third album, 'Welcome To Today'. The album was mixed and mastered by Grammy Award winning New York engineers, Dave Darlington and Greg Calbi.

Apart from his already busy schedule with Breakfast Included and as a session musician, Shaun established The Gaslight in 2004 - a sound and composition studio that specializes in scores for film, theatre and advertisements. More recently, he scored the soundtrack for Maynardville’s production of Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors. He has just begun work on the score for 'Lerato', a children’s animated series which will be released later in the year.
