About Cher

Hello! I am an actress born and raised in New York City, and I now reside in Jacksonville in Northeast Florida. I'm a screenwriter as well, so I often draw upon my acting skills to help develop the characters that I write about. I have received my training with private coaches in scene study, character development, on-camera acting, film and commercial audition technique and improv. I make sure to keep up my training constantly by attending workshops whenever possible, especially whenever I travel to Atlanta and NY for work.

My passion is to effectively communicate a story and I believe that a healthy amount of empathy helps me to accomplish that. Being an especially huge fan of the drama, sci-fi and fantasy genres, I most enjoy working with filmmakers who select talent from a diverse range of cultural demographics. With each new project I work hard to become the most effective storyteller I can be. My experience includes on-screen roles in film, new media, industrials and commercial work. I have also been a voice personality as a panelist for podcast shows since 2013.

My daily mantra is: once you accept yourself as you are, then you can more effectively help others accept who they are. No matter what their ethnicity, gender, age, religious beliefs or sexual orientation. Then once you truly understand someone else, you can tell their story that much more effectively.

This is what has inspired me to become an actress, and also a screenwriter: to help portray people in a multitude of ways that span the spectrum of socio-economic backgrounds and of human behavior – the good, the bad and the gray in between. It is my humble opinion that when you keep an open mind about how you represent the characters in your stories, the greater the engagement that you get from your audience. In times like these, this is the most sacred duty of our industry, now more than ever.

Unique traits: Being able to absorb and disseminate information with superhuman efficiency.
