CAO
By Michael Browne

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

A teenager is faced with the hardest decision of their life on the CAO deadline day.

SYNOPSIS:

The CAO (Central Applications Office) Form is a rite of passage for every teenager in Ireland in their final year of secondary school (high school). On it, you must select a maximum of 10 courses you'd like to do in college/university in the country, with no guarantee you'll get any of them. These courses are awarded based off a points system, where the points are awarded depending on how well you do in your final exams.

This is perhaps the start of one of the most stressful times in a teenagers life in Ireland. Following the submission of the form, comes the pressure to do well in your exams, to get the course you want, and have it funded by the government.

If that's what they want...

Hi Michael, unique idea for a short film, nice education angle. I'd suggest either elaborating on CAO in the logline, or finding a different way to phrase it altogether, only because it may come off as confusing to those not in the know on what CAO stands for?
