By Mara Baldissoni Aceves

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE: EXPATS living in NYC meet thru a dedicated Social Media called www.INTER-FLAGS.com; simultaneous and overlapping stories unfold where collision of cultures is the comedic core, thus creating weird, funny and ironic mockery of ethnic stereotypes versus their real cultural habits.

SYNOPSIS:

The comedy show features 7 main characters and many secondary characters recurring throughout the plot, creating overlapping stories. They are multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-origin characters, living in New York City for different reasons. They meet through www.interflags.com , a social media for expats, which organizes parties and gatherings with the aim of enhancing connections and friendship between expats. Interested Americans can join the net. Most of the scenes and dialogues will be handled as real life in real locations in the city, being one location the main spot: the website. The phrase “I have been flagged by…” will get famous in the series. Multi ethnical and multicultural people of mixed origin, social and familial status will interact in different but overlapping stories: some and not all of the main characters take part in all the episodes. Love, friendship, single and married life, jobs and habits are all mixed and influenced by cultural diversity and mockery of stereotypes based on multicultural origin of the characters. The conflicts and climaxes are created by the reaction of the characters when they feel the real habit collides with the stereotype people have in mind. At the end, anyway, people mix up together overcoming the differences in this melting pot that is New York and above all showing that feelings are universal, not matter where you come from, above all thanks to the globalizing phenomenon represented by social media
