I've currently working on startup website http://productionhotspot.com. I started off as an actor, but early on moved over to the production side of the video industry. I go WAY back to when 30 spots were distributed on 1" tape. Each commercial literally weighed pounds. I've been involved in some of the largest video facilities in the Bay Area. Went on to be involved in production, and over the years have done commercials, corporate video, and documentaries. I have experience as a director, producer and production / post production manager. These days I've moved to still photography, writing, and some editing.
For now I'm really engaged in my website. I'm trying to be an advocate for the infrastructure of the industry. With the proliferation of low cost cameras and desktop editing, many of the skilled artisans and facilities that made the industry what it is are having a tougher time getting business through their doors. My site is an homage to the below the line side of the business, and I'm trying to find ways to attract production to the local markets, and remind the local industry to support their production and post production facilities. Sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone.
