Prodony deBee: Indie Filmmaker, Innovator, and Founder of BootjakTV Productions
Tony deBee is an award-winning indie filmmaker and the visionary founder of BootjakTV Productions, a cutting-edge platform designed to revolutionize how independent films are distributed. With a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by indie filmmakers, Tony has dedicated his career to creating opportunities for underrepresented voices in the film industry.
Tony’s journey as a filmmaker began with his critically acclaimed film, “All The Way Around,” which delves into the complexities of mental health. The film received wide praise, earning eight film festival awards for its raw portrayal of a young man’s battle with inner demons. However, despite its success on the festival circuit, Tony faced the same obstacles that many indie filmmakers encounter—limited distribution options and the struggle to get his film in front of a large audience.
This experience served as the catalyst for Tony to found BootjakTV Productions. Determined to find a solution to the distribution challenges plaguing indie filmmakers, he created a platform that offers direct-to-viewer distribution through popular streaming services such as Roku and Amazon Fire TV, and soon, Apple TV and Android TV. BootjakTV aims to empower filmmakers by giving them the tools to distribute their films to a global audience of over 160 million viewers, while also retaining creative control and ownership.
Tony’s vision extends beyond simply providing a platform for distribution. He is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and stories that challenge conventional narratives. BootjakTV prioritizes films from people of color, LGBTQ+ filmmakers, women filmmakers, and other marginalized communities, ensuring that diverse stories are showcased on a global stage.
In addition to launching BootjakTV, Tony is an educator and advocate for indie filmmakers. He developed a comprehensive course titled “Indie Film Self-Distribution: Navigating the Film Industry Landscape,” which equips filmmakers with the knowledge and skills they need to successfully self-distribute their films. The course covers topics ranging from distribution models and marketing strategies to legal considerations and emerging industry trends. Tony’s commitment to educating the next generation of filmmakers is a core part of his mission to reshape the industry.
Tony deBee’s entrepreneurial spirit, creative vision, and commitment to diversity make him a standout figure in the world of indie filmmaking. With BootjakTV Productions, he is leading a movement to democratize film distribution, ensuring that every filmmaker—regardless of their background or resources—has the opportunity to share their stories with the world. As BootjakTV continues to grow and expand, Tony remains dedicated to creating a platform where indie filmmakers can thrive and where audiences can discover powerful, thought-provoking films from voices that deserve to be heard.ucer television series and feature film producer
