About Abdul

An animator of Ghanaian descent living in New York City, Abdul Ndadi is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts. His award-winning short "Orisha's Journey," (based on African folklore) has had various screenings across the globe; including the Hiroshima International Animation Festival, Fupi-Toons Festival, Cairo International Children's Film Festival, New York African Film Festival and Festival de Cannes (Short Film Corner). His work has been featured on OkayAfrica Magazine and the Atlanta Black Star and he's also appeared on television interviews with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC News) and Divine Speech in African Traditionalism (U.S. Cable TV). Abdul is working as a freelance artist (storyboards/animation/illustration) and on a personal Graphic Novel.

Stickman: The Roosevelt Wilkerson Story (2016)
TV Movie (Documentary, Animation and Biography) Animation department A knife altered the course of Roosevelt Wilkerson's life twice. As a young man, it sent him to prison. Later, homeless and angry, he picks up a stick and begins carving. Stickman is the incredible story of Roosevelt's journey off the street and the transformative - and unlikely - friendships he makes along the way. Art enthusiast Carol Brewer befriends him and their relationship is the genesis of an art program for the Dallas homeless. Susan Nowlin, a Texas socialite, becomes his benefactor and helps him to sell his hand-carved sticks, some of which reach the hands of celebrities and world leaders like Pope Benedict VI. Stickman demonstrates that love and compassion hold no economic nor racial boundary and have the power to transform each one of us.
Orisha's Journey (2014)
Film (Animation, Short, Adventure, Family and 1 More) Writer Rooted in African myth, Orisha's Journey is about a little girl and the power of imagination. Orisha, who doesn't believe in fables finds herself in one. After meeting a lost flower spirit, she must journey though the world of spirits and the depths of her imagination to return the lost flower to the 'Walking Forest!'
