When the Curse starts taking lives of her beloved ones, a brave private detective digs deep into the past in order to reverse and destroy the Curse, all the way passing through a mental nightmare on the way to the truth and their own salvation

SYNOPSIS:

BACKGROUND - ACT I

The beginning of the story takes place in Westlake Village and it shows the citizens preparing all the details for the upcoming Fourth of July Parade. Everyone is invited except the old man who escaped their happiness a long time ago. Jealous, devastated and furious he stabs a silver knife in the ground and throws the curse that will last until the end of time and kill every single living citizen of Westlake Village. The Curse starts revealing and killing people without any reasonable explanation. A sixty years-old judge John Clifford on his death bed reveals all the truth to her granddaughter Molly and she gives him a promise that she will find a way to destroy the Curse forever. The story continues but moves in time in space – twenty years later; Los Angeles. Molly is a widowed private detective with two kids. She works with her friend Richard in the small office on the Main Street. After an ordinary working-day she gets a call from the unknown number and becomes aware of the truth and the Curse itself.

ACT II A day after, Max, the only living heir of the old man kidnaps her daughter. He wants to meet her face to face. Afraid for her daughter she accepts his game. They meet that evening. He starts threatening her to stop investigating the curse and that it will bury them all in the end. They separate ways but the police catch him and take him to the prison. Few days after the kidnapping incident Molly and Richard go to the library to find anything related to the Curse and its possible destroying. It must not remain unsolved. They go deep into the woods and find the old man’s grave. On the other side, by the unexplained circumstances, a local lawyer kills his friend. He runs to his apartment and after a painful struggle with his own mirror upside-down reflection he commits a suicide jumping from the terrace. That very night, a same nightmare follows Molly but she was a little bit stronger than the lawyer. A day after, Max escapes from prison and comes to visit Molly. The threatening continues. She gets more and more afraid so she informs Richard about it. He wants to make him pay for everything, gets in the car and unfortunately has an accident and dies.

ACT III

Scared to death, she decides to act quickly as possible. She calls her sister and her brother-in law to come over to her house and to help her with her mission. After the dinner they go deep into the woods. George, her brother-in law is attacked by a bloodthirsty wolf but Molly kills the creature. Soon after that, George starts revealing his doubts. He pulls the accursed knife out of the ground and immediately falls into coma.

They hardly manage to carry him to the car and take him to the hospital. While waiting, her sister Mary tells Molly that she is pregnant and that they will have twins. It is now or never. Molly goes to the woods all by herself. She keeps on wandering through the intertwined branches and suddenly Max appears in front of her. She shoots him down and continue to walk towards the grave. When she reaches it, she starts digging the tomb with her bare hands and after a while she notices a skeleton.

CULMINATION

The curse destroying ritual says that she must spend the night on his tomb. She falls down on her knees and secretly prays for the best solution. With the first morning light, she runs, grabs the knife out of the ground and stabs it into the “heart” of the corpse. A thunder strikes few times. At last the clouds reveal a clear dawning sky with some stars here and there. She walks towards the car drives back to the hospital. George is already awake. They collect all of their belongings and go home. The Curse is vanished forever and a new life can begin.
