Devastated by a recent break-up, a heartbroken man hatches a convoluted plan to win back the love of his life amidst the chaos of post-flood New York, where climate change protests and gentrification battles take center stage.

SYNOPSIS:

In the aftermath of unprecedented floods that ravaged New York, unleashing contaminated water and rampant disease, Adam finds himself isolated in a cramped apartment with his loyal dog, Luv. Still grappling with the aftermath of a devastating breakup with his ex-girlfriend, Mia, he retreats into a world of fantasies, oblivious to the climate change protests and gentrification battles raging outside his door.

Meanwhile, Kelsy, Adam's sister and a nurse at a local hospital, witnesses the heartbreaking toll the floods take on her patients, who suffer from contagious respiratory infections caused by the contaminated floodwater. Seeking solace in her brother, Kelsy is met with Adam's emotional detachment, consumed by his relentless pursuit of Mia's love. In a moment of truth, Mia tells Adam that his love was never genuine, but rather a romanticized notion of who she was, leaving him with a cryptic farewell letter.

Plunging deeper into despair, Adam turns to Bam Bam, a struggling actor, to help him execute a desperate and convoluted plan: to shoot him, believing that such an extreme act will provoke Mia's sympathy and lead to her return. However, Bam Bam experiences a change of heart, refusing to fulfill Adam's desperate request. A tense confrontation ensues, resulting in Adam being punched, his nose broken, and Bam Bam fleeing with the gun.

Desperate and pushed to the edge, Adam decides to rob a bodega in a final attempt to provoke the owner into shooting him. The owner refuses, and Adam finally gives up. He surrenders Luv to Cool Dan, his best friend.

At a climactic turning point, Adam realizes the futility of his misguided plan and reaches his breaking point. Retrieving the gun Bam Bam returned, he pulls the trigger, only to find the gun empty and a note from Bam Bam urging him to start anew.

Adam finally confronts his demons and finds the strength to change. He begins to understand the true meaning of love, redemption, and self-forgiveness. He seeks out Cool Dan during a climate and anti-gentrification protest, apologizing for his behavior, and is reunited with Luv, the faithful companion he almost lost. Learning that Kelsy has contracted a respiratory infection due to the contaminated floodwater, Adam is plagued with guilt.

As Kelsy recovers and a newfound sense of hope takes hold, Adam and his sister face an uncertain world together, supporting each other in their journey forward and embracing the challenges of post-flood New York with resilience and love.
