About Wray

Hello fellow creatives!

My name is Wray Crawford, and I am a SAG/AFTRA actor, headshot photographer, acting coach, and Theatre Technical Director currently residing in Austin, TX.

A little about me….I am originally from upstate NY, however I moved to Texas when I very young. I grew up in San Angelo, TX and after high school decided to pursue acting at Angelo State University. While there, I had opportunity to study under Academy Award Winner and former Academy President Karl Malden. I attribute much of what I learned at that early stage in my career to the short time spent with Karl. In addition to acting I studied technical theater and design and in 2000 I became the Technical Director and Resident Designer at Angelo Civic Theater, and then in 2004 I became Technical Director at my Alma mater ASU. An opportunity came in 2006 when I earned the position of Technical Director at the prestigious Zachary Scott Theater in Austin, TX. With this move I was also finally able to pursue my passion, acting professionally, in a larger market. Shortly after my move to Austin, I signed with Heather Collier at Collier Talent Agency, my current representation.

I am active in TXMPA (the Texas Motion Picture Association), my local SAG/AFTRA Austin-Houston chapter, and work in my spare time both as a headshot photographer and an acting coach. My current “day-job” is in software development, where I work as “an actor acting like a software test engineer”.

I look forward to networking and possibly creating together!
