Raised by the neighborhood bluejays in a town you’ve never heard of, an autodidact and self-made person, their dedication to art allowed them to liberate their queer artmaking from the imprisonment of a conservative upbringing and onto the world’s stage of the avant-garde. Inspired by speaking in tongues and music improvisation as a way to connect to spirit they set their sights first on theater, opera, painting, poetry, and film. Discipline and a firm belief in art was their ticket out of poverty and oppression to move to the big city of Los Angeles that has been their creative home for two decades.

An artist for life, their visual work shines a queer light on our transient overlooked simple natural places and quotidian life. Rebirth, the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs Reimagine Public Art grant recipient, combined the intention of live painting, music, nature, and spoken word poetry in video art.

On stage since they could walk, transformative performances shaped their view of the possibility of improvisation and connection through art. The New Yorker said their leading role was 'performed virtuosically' in Hopscotch, a Mobile Opera. LA weekly wrote of their flying through Hollywood Fringe: 'showstopping.'

Multi-hour art happenings they direct have inspired all across California and moved them to current experiments layering past, present, and future artistic realities through technology and audience responsive/immersive experiences that queer our habituated binaries and allow for the possibility of expressing our unique(queer)ness.

Their self-made breaking out of the normative has given them a story that spans the unexpected to make something new.
