Unless you want the cops at your front door, I would change the "I" to a particular character. Like maybe say "a battered woman at the end of her rope". Just a suggestion : )
Or based on your profile, "a battered woman, who was close to killing her husband, marched from Canada to Mexico to raise awareness" . Something like that. It sounds like a very interesting story. I'd put that experience in your log line for sure.
