About T.R.

I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Political Science, while at the same time studying acting under the tutelage of Dean Armstrong and Douglas Nyback at the renowned Armstrong Acting Studios in Toronto. After graduating I headed west to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television.

I earned a Masters of Fine Art degree in Film in 2013 at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California, with a focus on screenwriting. I sold my first script Windsor Drive while still in film school. The film was released theatrically in 2015 by Indican Pictures and digitally online and went on to win me critical acclaim for a first time writer. I also starred in the film and produced it alongside Absinthe Productions. The first installment of my epic sci-fi trilogy The Realm earned me a nomination by the Hollywood Screenwriter Awards in 2014. I also completed and released my first novel 'Chasing the Wanderer' in 2018, a book that deals with life, love and the pursuit of happiness in the social media age.

I have always had a passion for politics and social activism. I am progressive. I have worked for Project Mermaids LLC since it's inception in 2012 and have worked his way up to become the tour manager and staff writer of the non-profit organization. Project Mermaids works alongside the Save Our Beach Foundation to raise awareness about ocean conservation and preservation.

I now split my time between Los Angeles and Toronto.
